The guided trips are excellent if you're into a slow group thing and really need to have beautiful things pointed out to you, or if you want to combine the sunrise with a bike ride.

**Warning - While it is true that you won't have to pedal much, the heavy use of brakes while descending the mountain for 2 hours can place a lot of stress on your wrists and is more difficult than "activity sellers" will lead you to believe. There is also a chance of rain or fog at times and this can be troubling if you're not in good shape.

Poli Poli State Park

Poli Poli State Park is located on the west side of Haleakala, Poli Poli has miles of trails for hiking and Mt Biking. Great views of West Maui, Kaho'olawi and Lana'i. 9.7 miles west of Kula Botanical Gardens entrance is Waipoli Road off Kekaulike Avenue (Highway 377). The park is located along this road before Keokea. The road is only partially paved.

La Perouse lighthouse

La Perouse lighthouse - a mostly level but with small challenges 4-5 mile ride to the Southwestern most tip of Maui accessible only by foot, bike, or big 4WD. Awesome views of southern Maui cliffs, the island of Hawaii, and huge open seas. no facilities on this ride!
