Maui SunsetMaui Sunset and Sunrise favorite places and secret hideaways including Haleakala, Lahaina, Kihei, Hana and floating on a surfboard! Haleakala SunsetHaleakala Sunset is one of my favorite places on Maui. Be prepared to leave Lahaina side by 3:30, 4:00 from Kihei, to be at the summit in plenty of time to enjoy the full show. Please don't let the heat of the beach make you complacent about packing plenty of warm gear for the cold. Hike out of the parking lot 2 minutes to the west up over the hill and grab a seat by some rocks and enjoy the surreal event. Be warned that it's possible for the summit to be covered in clouds. Modify your trip accordingly. Sunrise on a surfboardSunrise Over the west Maui mountains while floating on a surfboard at Breakwall or Launiopoko. Unreal! Maui Sunset Lahaina beach at 505 Front StAnother one of my favorite ways to view the Maui sunset is at Pacifico's with cocktails and a pupu (appetizer) to enjoy set the mood for dinner and romance. Or just sitting on Lahaina beach at 505 Front Street. Maui Sunset at Makena Beach Sunset at Makena Beach is spectacular but there are no real amenities but if your down here for the day you should be prepared anyway. Sunrise in Hana MauiSunrise in Hana at any of the beaches or the campground. I can't even begin to describe the peaceful feeling and beauty, so I won't. Just do it! Haleakala Sunrise over the craterHaleakala sunrise over the crater isn't ranked higher strictly because of the early hour you have to leave Lahaina or Kihei to get there on time. Simply awesome if you hike out to the edge of the crater wall. If you're gonna do it, make sure to leave early and catch the very first rays of sunlight. Also bring a lot of warm clothing and a blanket!! Thank you for visiting the Maui Sunset page.
